Inside Passage is a coastal route along the Northwest pacific coast of North America. This route for ocean going vessels stretches from Southeastern Alaska in the United States through western British Columbia in Canada up to Northwestern Washington State in the United States. This route is favored by cruise ship during the summer months, along with freighters, fishing vessels, and ferries because they can avoid tougher weather conditions out in the open ocean.
The Inside Passage along the South Eastern Alaska goes through communities steeped in their unique history and culture. This region is also called Alaska’s Panhandle.
