The tidewater glaciers that spill into the College Fjord are named after famous elite colleges of the East Coast. The College Fjord is inside the Prince William Sound and is frequented by large and small cruise ships hoping to catch it calving. As amazing as it sounds, it remained unaltered after being the epicenter of the Good Friday Earthquake, the 9.2 earthquake that destroyed towns and villages across the southwest coast of Alaska. This area can sometimes be viewed during a flight to Alaska. If you are interested in witnessing glacier after glacier after glacier, and still be close to Anchorage, College Fjord is one of Alaska Denali Tours dream vacation destinations. Day Tours and Flightseeing out of Whittier available throughout the summer months.
