To try and describe this glacier in all of its glory will be difficult; it really must be seen to first hand to be believed. The Hubbard is the longest glacier in the world, at over 76 miles long and over 100 feet tall, with the power to raise water level in the area over 16 feet and still take it 400 years to travel from its source in the Yukon to the Yakutat and Disenchantment Bays. The Hubbard Glacier is the highlight and attraction of all large cruise ships traveling through the Inside Passage. Large cruise ships dare not get to close, chances of a 100 foot piece calving off of the glacier are high and as ice floats it will bounce back up from the water violently. An amazing sight to see – from a distance! There are no cities or towns to visit here; it is too active of a glacier, only a spectacular place to visit.
Wonderful people, comfortable cabins with a beautiful view! The location and facilities are great but my memories will center on the superb staff, they were very warm and helpful!

Very quaint and comfy. And, the curtains did a great job darkening the room. Thank you, we slept great!
