Let us recommend fishing lodges and a taste of the fishing regulations in Alaska.
Before you decide to come to Alaska for the fishing you need to decide where you will be fishing; south-central is the hot spot for inland sport fishing. Available fish are several verities of Salmon, Trout, Dolly Varden, Northern Pike and Grayling. Along the coast you can try your luck with the incoming tides to catch Salmon, and Halibut as well as Rock Fish. You can pick up tidal guides where ever you pick up your fishing license. Listen to the local stations and your guides for fishing reports because Alaska fishing is tempered by the tides.
Second you’ll need to get a fishing License. Luckily fishing licenses are available just about everywhere! The information needed for an Alaska Fishing license is your current contact information. King Salmon stamps are an additional charge; 1 day (nonresidents) is $10 for an example. 7, 10 and 14 day King tags are available. Alaska Fish and Game allows for Military discounts. Non-Resident sport fishing licensing price as of 2011; 1 day is $20.00. Also available are: 7, 10 and 14 day licenses. Persons under 16 fish for free however a “harvest tag” is required.
Thirdly, during the summer we have up to 18-20 hours of day light and if you’re a true fishing diehard fan this is a dream come true! Don’t forget you need to eat and sleep. Alaska fishing lodges will keep you refreshed and geared up for the day. Fishing Guide are also available to keep you raring to go to max out on your limit.
For a real fishing treat avoid combat fishing and 6 pack ocean vessals. "How", you ask...
Fly-in Fishing in Alaska: Hop on a bush plane piloted by experienced pilots who will fly you into the remote parts of Alaska. No farmed fish here! We are talking real Alaska fish - 20+ inch Rainbow/Steelhead Trout, the record holder is a 15 pounder caught in 1970. Isn't it time for a new recorder holder? Do you think you could land a 50 pound Salmon hell-bent on spawning? This is wild Alaska fishing you'll tell stories about to generations.

Everything from the lodging, goldstar train ride, bus tour of Denali Park, Kenai Fjiords, etc was exceptional. And, the weather cooperated on the days in park and on the boat.
