
At the end of a gravel spit where the Noatak, Selawik and Kobuk Rivers meet to drain into to the Kotzebue Sound lays a small town but here in the Arctic it’s considered the largest in the area. It is a gathering place to celebrate competitions like the current World Eskimo Indian Olympics along with the arrival of the whalers, traders, and gold seekers this once small trading center expanded to the thriving town it is today.
We would like to recommend these hotels and lodges for accommodation in Kotzebue, and you can enjoy these tours.
We and all our luggage made it back to Florida last week. We are still digesting the wonderful time we had and all the adventures we experienced. When we are asked what was the best part, there is never a short answer, because there was not one best, it was all terrific, everyday had something or somewhere wonderful and memorable !!
