The City of Valdez is located in South Central Alaska on the northeast tip of Prince William Sound. The city has a beautiful setting; ringed by majestic mountains on all sides. Valdez's climate is relatively mild, which is attributed to the marine currents in and weather generated by the Pacific Ocean. It can get a lot of snowfall in the winter; It's average annual snowfall is 30 Feet! That's the highest of any sea-level community in North America.
Valdez is famous for being the terminus of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline, but you will remember it for it's beauty. Even the drive there is gorgeous; keep a look out for the many waterfalls along the highway, and near Thompson Pass!
Valdez has the comfort of a small town, with many of the advantages of a larger community. You can get to Valdez by road, ferry, or airline.
