8-Day Whittier Backcountry Lodge Pre-Cruise (Train) Tour Package #PRCFWDBL-81(TT)

Day 1:

Arrive in the historic city of Fairbanks,  Overnight in Fairbanks Fairbanks Hotels

Day 2:

Board the morning train to Denali National Park, upon arrival take a convenient shuttle to check in at Denali Cabins. The afternoon is free to explore the area or indulge in optional activities such as a Jet Boat Safari, Rafting Tour, or Flightseeing Tour. Overnight in your own private cedar cabin at Denali Cabins. 

Day 3:

After a hearty breakfast, embark on a scenic rafting excursion skirting the boundaries of Denali National Park down the glacier-fed Nenana River.  Later in the evening, join an intimate group for a personal tour of the homestead and Iditarod race kennel of three-time Iditarod champion Jeff King and his wife, well known wildlife artist Donna Gates King.  Make sure to cuddle the husky puppies before heading back to your private cedar cabin. Overnight at Denali Cabins.

Day 4:

After the Deluxe Continental Breakfast join one of the optional activities before boarding our afternoon bus to the Denali Backcountry Lodge. You will spend the next two nights at this very exclusive Denali Backcountry Lodge. All meals, snacks and activities are included while at the lodge. Overnight at - Denali Backcountry Lodge.

Day 5:

Join the many activities at the Lodge from hiking, biking, gold panning, Natural History presentations and Wonder Lake shuttles to simply relaxing with a book from our Natural History Library in one of the riverside Gazebos. Overnight at - Denali Backcountry Lodge.

Day 6:

After the early morning breakfast buffet, board the bus for another great opportunity to enjoy the vista's and wonders of Denali, searching for famous Denali wildlife. Then, board the afternoon train, winding through the scenic Matanuska-Susitna Valley, arriving in Anchorage. Overnight in Anchorage - Anchorage Hotels

Day 7:

Today, enjoy the Grand Highlights and Cruise Tour.  Start with a scenic drive along Turnagain Arm, ending at Portage Lake, with an amazing glacier cruise.  Then, on your way back to Anchorage, stop at the Alyeska resort for lunch and an optional tram ride up the mountain. Finally, take a comprehensive tour of Anchorage, including a stop at the Alaska Native Heritage Center. Overnight in Anchorage - Anchorage Hotels

Day 8:

Take The Alaska Railroad's Coastal Classic train to Whittier tracing the scenic Turnagain Arm, where you'll have an great chance of seeing Beluga whales, moose, and Dall sheep.  Connect with your cruise in Whittier.
