Begin Your land based Alaska vacation in the city of Seward, located at the head of the scenic Resurrection Bay. The highlight of your first day will be a self-guided tour of the Alaska SeaLife Center. The center offers an unrivaled, up-close and personal experience with Gulf of Alaska marine wildlife, and you will be able to explore all the amazing exhibits of the center at your own pace. Optional behind the scenes tours of the Alaska SeaLife Center are also available. Spend the rest of your day relaxing, or exploring this interesting town. Overnight in Seward.
Today, take the Real Alaska Tour! This comprehensive tour begins with a sightseeing trip around the city, then heads out to Exit Glacier. Enjoy a short walk along the nature trail that takes you to the face of the glacial ice. After your glacier excursion, enjoy a hearty lunch at an authentic Alaskan roadhouse(Included), and your next adventure, a Wilderness Dog Sled Ride & Tour. At the Seavey Homestead, go on an exciting two-mile dog sled ride, and then take a tour of the kennel facilities and get to cuddle adorable husky puppies. After your Real Alaska tour, board the Alaska Railroad for a scenic coastal journey to Anchorage You will arrive to the Anchorage train depot in the late evening. Overnight in Anchorage.
This day is yours to explore. Pickup your rental car in downtown Anchorage and take a self guided tour of Anchorage. Downtown Anchorage has lots of unique little shops and excellent restaurants. The city also has a very extensive trail system and lots of parks to enjoy and relax in. There are also plenty of optional activities you can enjoy while in Anchorage, like a city tour, or flightseeing. Overnight in Anchorage.
Day 4 - Anchorage to Denali Park Entrance:This morning take the beautiful drive to Denali. Upon arrival, check in to your own private Cedar Cabin at Denali Cabins, a unique property south of the park entrance. Denali Cabins' collection of 46 cozy Cedar Cabins are spacious enough to have modern conveniences such as private baths, televisions, telephones, and contemporary furnishings, yet still have the charm of an authentic Alaskan cabin. Later in the afternoon enjoy a rafting the beautiful Nenana River. You may see moose, sheep, Caribou and bear, as you raft downstream 11 miles. The most scenic portion of the Nenana River gives you thrilling, yet enjoyable rafting. Overnight at Denali Cabins.
After enjoying Denali Cabins Deluxe Continental Breakfast(Included), you will have some free time before boarding our afternoon bus to the Denali Backcountry Lodge. The trip to the lodge is an adventure in and of itself; it is an amazingly beautiful ride, and offers great opportunities for wildlife viewing. Our drivers/guides provide a natural history interpretation along the way, and help you spot wildlife. Arrive to the Lodge in the evening, welcomed by a hearty dinner(Included); and check in to your cozy Cedar Cabin. You will spend the next three nights at Denali Backcountry Lodge soaking in the deep experience of Denali. All activities, programs, meals and snacks are included while at the Lodge. Overnight at Denali Backcountry Lodge.
Enjoy your first day at the Lodge, and get acquainted with the area and activities. Choose from the many activities at the Lodge from hiking, biking, gold panning, Natural History programs, Wonder Lake shuttles to simply relaxing in the Natural History Lounge or gazebos. Overnight at Denali Backcountry Lodge.
Day 7 - Kantishna (B|L|D):Relax, and enjoy your last day at Denali Backcountry Lodge. Join a guided hike, go mountain biking, or simply enjoy the majestic beauty of Denali National Park. You can even take an optional flightseeing tour of Denali. Overnight at Denali Backcountry Lodge.
After the early breakfast buffet(Included), board the bus back to the Denali Park Entrance for another great opportunity to enjoy the vistas and wonders of Denali, searching for famous Denali wildlife. Depart for Anchorage at your own leisure, where your tour ends with the return of your rental car.
