Your 7 day Alaska vacation begins with your arrival into the city of Anchorage. Feel free to take a self guided tour of downtown. Downtown has lots of unique little shops and excellent restaurants, and on the weekends, the Anchorage Saturday Market is a great place to walk for shopping, entertainment, and food. The city also has a very extensive trail system and lots of parks to enjoy and relax in. You could also visit the Museum of History and Art, or enjoy some shopping at the 5th Avenue Mall. Overnight in Anchorage.
Pick up your rental car from downtown Anchorage and enjoy the breathtaking ride to Seward. You will be driving alongside the beautiful Turnagain Arm; keep an eye out for Beluga Whales in the arm, and Dall sheep on the steep mountainsides above. There are plenty of little scenic pullouts along the way, and lots of great little restaurants. After arriving in Seward check into your hotel and then take a self guided tour of Alaska SeaLife Center. The Alaska SeaLife Center offers an unrivaled, up-close and personal experience with Gulf of Alaska marine wildlife. Witness a 2000+ pound Stellar Sea Lion gliding past underwater viewing windows, Puffins diving in a carefully crafted naturalistic habitat, and Harbor Seals resting on rocky beaches. Optional behind the scenes tours are available. Overnight in Seward.
This morning, embark on a day cruise into Resurrection Bay, and Kenai Fjords National Park; the Aialik and Holgate Glacier Cruise. Explore two uniquely amazing tidewater glacier, and get lots of chance to see the marine life of the park; your captain is an expert at getting you close enough to get a great view. This full day cruise is hosted by a uniformed National Park Ranger, and with photo opportunities galore, it is sure to be unforgettable. Includes Prime Rib and Salmon buffet. After your cruise, head back to Anchorage at your leisure, return your rental car, and check in to your hotel. Overnight in Anchorage.
Take the morning Motorcoach from Anchorage to a unique property just south of the Park Entrance, Denali Cabins. Denali Cabins' collection of 46 cozy Cedar Cabins are spacious enough to have modern conveniences such as private baths, televisions, telephones, and contemporary furnishings, yet still have the charm of an authentic Alaskan cabin. The afternoon is free to explore the area; take advantage of the free shuttles to the Denali Visitor's center, and the McKinley Village, or enjoy one of many optional activities. After enjoying Denali Cabins Deluxe Continental Breakfast(Included), you will have some free time before boarding our afternoon bus to the Denali Backcountry Lodge. The trip to the Lodge is an adventure in and of itself; it is an amazingly beautiful ride and offers great opportunities for wildlife viewing. Our drivers/guides provide a natural history interpretation along the way, and help you spot wildlife. Arrive to the Lodge in the evening, welcomed by a hearty dinner(Included); and check in to your cozy Cedar Cabin. You will spend the next two nights at Denali Backcountry Lodge soaking in the deep experience of Denali. All activities, programs, meals and snacks are included while at the Lodge. Overnight at Denali Backcountry Lodge.
Enjoy your day at the lodge and get acquainted with the area and activities! Choose from the numerous activities or simply relax and enjoy the majestic beauty of Denali National Park. There are many activities at the Lodge from hiking, mountain biking, gold panning, Natural History programs, Wonder Lake shuttles to simply relaxing in the Natural History Lounge or gazebos. You can even take an optional flightseeing tour of Denali. Overnight at Denali Backcountry Lodge.
After the early morning breakfast buffet, board the bus for another great opportunity to enjoy the vista's and wonders of Denali, searching for famous Denali wildlife. Then embark on a very leisurely ride on the Alaska Railroad to Anchorage, winding through the Matanuska-Susitna Valley. You will arrive to Anchorage in the late evening where this package ends.
