Day 1: Arrive in
Anchorage. Overnight in Anchorage
Day 2: Travel south along the spectacular Turnagain
Arm.
Visit the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. Enjoy tram ride offering
spectacular views of the valley. Overnight in Girdwood at Alyeska.
Day 3: Take the motorcoach to Seward. Visit the Alaska Sealife
Center. Return to Girdwood. Overnight at Alyeska.
Day 4: Head to Anchorage. Enjoy a tour through the historic
downtown district, Lake Hood/Lake Spenard and visit the Alaska Zoo. Tonight,
enjoy the Iditarod festivities at the Musher's Banquet (available to guests who
reserve prior to December 1, 2007)! Overnight in Anchorage.
Day 5: Travel north to the kennels of four-time Iditarod Champion Martin Buser at his Happy Trails Kennel. Return to Anchorage. Visit the Iditarod Headquarters and see first hand a replica Iditarod Trail station. Overnight in Anchorage.
Day 6: This morning,
head
to 4th Avenue to get a great spot at the start of the Iditarod. Watch each
musher take off and enjoy other Iditarod festivities in Anchorage. Tonight,
reminisce over your Alaska winter adventure at a farewell dinner. Overnight in
Anchorage.
Day 7: Your tour ends when you check out of your hotel. Or ask about extending the Winter Extravaganza with a post tour.
