Alaska Travel by Railroad - Anchorage to Whittier

Traveling out of Anchorage, pass through the Anchorage Coastal Wildlife Refuge and be prepared spot migratory birds, water fowl and moose. Continue along Turnagain Arm where Beluga whales and Dall sheep can often be seen. After passing Girdwood and Portage Glacier, travel through a two mile tunnel before reaching Whittier.
