Talkeetna is located north of Wasilla off the Roger Parks Highway. This little town was founded in the pioneer days of Alaska, and was once only accessible by boat, plane or dogsled in the winter. The Railroad was established in the early 1900's and the road was completed in 1964.
There's lots to do in Talkeetna, you can go riverboating, rafting, flightseeing, or on a quieter note, just explore the town's museums, and memorials, and take a quiet canoe trip on a small lake. The town is now used as a rest spot for travelers on their way north, and for the hikers that want to ascend Denali. This is considered the 'first step' towards conquering the mountain.

My handicapped child wanted to go to visit the Alaska wilderness, and they had everything in place to make the lodging and tours accessible for us... They even picked us up from the airport. I can't wait to do all of the tours! Thank you so much for the beautiful memories.
